Description
Personal account of a young American who enlisted in the Air Corps after graduating from high school. He was assigned to the Philippines and attached to the 20th Pursuit Squadron in Clark Field when the war broke out.
He narrates his experiences in Bataan, the Death March, prison camp, hell ship to Japan, forced labor in Osaka and finally liberation. He had been inspired by a missionary just before the war and became a Christian missionary after the war, assigned to the Philippines again in 1949. Much of the book depicts his survival through faith.
