Compilation of articles and first person accounts relating to the liberation of Santo Tomas Internment Camp by the Flying Column – the 1st Cavalry Division, US Army and attached units.
There are a few general articles on the Philippines, the Japanese invasion and occupation of Manila, followed by a number of reminiscences by Santo Tomas internees of their day of liberation. The bulk of the book is composed of short memoirs and reminiscences by members of the 1st Cavalry Division and attached military organizations, divided by unit.
The compiler’s husband was a member of the division, and his experiences inspired the compiler to produce this book.
