Autobiography (ghost-written) of a Hungarian ballet artist and internationally noted impresario and stage producer (ballet, musicals, concerts). Fled from Europe to the US just prior to the outbreak of World War II in Europe. In November 1941 he came to Manila to visit his sister, and was caught by the war.
He describes his three year enforced stay in Manila in pp. 48-59: as a Hungarian national he was treated as a friendly alien by the Japanese, while his Swiss wife was accorded good treatment as a neutral. They faced the rigors and fears of Manila under Japanese occupation, while trying to make a living teaching music. The couple were involved in the musical notables of Manila, and were also involved in the efforts to assist prisoners of war. During the Liberation period, he helped organize shows for GIs.
