Biographies of two brothers from Montana – Paul and James. Paul served with the Asiatic Fleet before the war, and saw service in China and with the Marines in Nicaragua; he had retired by the time the war began.
The younger brother, James (“Bud”) joined the 4th Marine Regiment, stationed in China but withdrawn to the Philippines just prior to the war. He fought on Corregidor during the 1942 siege, and was captured by the Japanese when the island fort fell.
