Tsokaropoulos family.
Description
Autobiography of Sofia Dimitriades Adamson, an American of Greek origins, who moved around the U.S. with her family and wound up in Manila, where she met a Greek citizen, George Athos Adamson, visiting from the Philippines.
Adamson had helped his brother set up a technical school, growing to a full-fledged college (and later university – Adamson University). The two married and proceeded to Manila in 1939.
Mrs. Adamson talks about life in Manila, and devotes six chapters to her experiences in occupied Manila. Considered neutral by the Japanese, Mrs. Adamson and her husband remained free in Manila, but encountered severe shortages and other difficulties in daily life. She continues by describing life in Manila after the war.
