The generals are General Tomoyuki Yamashita (both in the Malaya campaign and defense of the Philippines); Gen. Based on Japanese sources and interviews with the families and contemporaries of the generals, plus standard works in English, this work gives thus far unsurpassed account of these Japanese generals and their campaigns. (The author fought in the Burmese campaign and thus faced Gen. Mutaguchi’s troops).
